Terms of use
The terms that apply when you use DatumLab, and the limits of what a study and checking aid can be relied on for.
What this tool is
DatumLab is a training and quick check aid for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. It is not an inspection record, a released drawing, a certificate of conformance, or a substitute for the controlling drawing, a calibrated instrument, a qualified inspection plan, and your own professional judgment. Verify every result against the drawing and the standard edition in force before you act on it.
Standards and content
The evaluation model follows ASME Y14.5-2018. The rules are stated here in original prose. No clause text, table, or figure from ASME Y14.5-2018, from ISO 1101, or from any commercial course is reproduced on this site, and every practice question is authored from scratch. Where a result depends on an interpretation, the drawing and the standard govern, not this tool.
Price
Everything on this site is currently free to use, with no account:
- Every calculator and the position plot
- The feature control frame composer and reader
- Every guide and reference page, with no item hidden from a crawler
- Unlimited practice on four full topics
- Mastery tracking and the mistakes notebook
- JSON export and import of your saved cases
If a paid tier is added later, the calculators, the plot, the frame tools, and the reference and guide pages stay free. Nothing that is free today will be moved behind a payment.
Your data
Everything you enter stays in your browser. You are responsible for exporting your own JSON backup if you want your saved cases to survive clearing site data, changing browser, or changing device.
Warranty and liability
The site is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site or reliance on any figure it produces.
Refunds
Not happy with a purchase? Email socialreminderinfo@gmail.com within 14 days of a first purchase, or within 7 days of a renewal, and we will refund it. Send the message from the email address you used at checkout, and include:
- the email address used at checkout (if you are writing from a different address)
- your access code, shown on the Premium page while you are subscribed on the browser you purchased from
- roughly when you purchased, and which plan (weekly, yearly or lifetime)
- the last 4 digits of the card, if you have the receipt handy
That is everything needed to find the purchase and process the refund. This policy does not limit any statutory rights you may have.
Acceptable use
Use the site for lawful study and engineering work. Do not attempt to disrupt it, and do not republish the practice questions or explanations as your own content.
